This in-person educational program covers implantable pacemaker and defibrillator concepts from early development through current advanced technology and therapy. The history of devices as well as a general overview of current features will be presented, followed by most recent advances including left-sided pacing, leadless pacing and extravascular implantable defibrillators. Past to present indications for antiarrhythmic drugs will also be discussed. Content is appropriate for novice to experienced RNs and APPs who work with device patients. General Cardiologists and Cardiology Fellows may also benefit from this program.

Application has been submitted for 4.25 continuing education credits.
